Bird Strike is a shoot ’em up but with a musical element!

The planes dive down from above the cloud cover, and if the player can shoot the wings with their gun, then the planes release a carrier pigeon. Shoot the pigeon and a note is added to the musical stave shown at the top of the screen

The planes dive bomb the player whilst all of this is going on, and they can fly down the screen and home in on the player, trying to blow them up. Only a central hit from the player's gun is enough to destroy each plane.

The player can only complete a level when the tune s finished, so shooting all of the planes down as quickly as possible isn't the best strategy.
