Information

Sidewize is a technically nice sideways shoot ’em up for the Spectrum and Commodore 64. The player controls a spaceman who blasts his way through four different worlds or levels on his way to defeating the ultimate enemy in the Cavern.

Enemy ships fly in distinct patterns and some are harder to destroy than others. However, skill and determination on the players part should see them through with enough practice.

Some destroyed enemies leave behind weapon upgrades, which give the player a much better chance of success, but only if they can collect them before the timer runs out and the pick-up self-destructs!

One particularly nice touch is that the player can choose which world to blast through first.
