Space Shuttle is an attempt to simulate the first Space Shuttle – Discovery – on its maiden voyage in 1981. The original Activision release contains a 32 page colour manual, which describes every facet of the simulator.
The simulator experience is split into different stages of that first Space Shuttle mission. The objective is to launch and achieve orbit, match the trajectory of an orbiting satellite, dock, re-fuel, re-enter the Earth's atmosphere and finally land safely at Edwards Air Force Base in California.
Thankfully, the player can practice in a simulator before they go out and do the full mission...
Space Shuttle simulates all of the major elements - velocity, altitude, temperature, glidepaths, pitch, yaw and roll.
