Just to say a belated thanks for the amazing titles you produced on the Spectrum. Though early titles like Booty and Thrust kept me entertained, it was games like Elite, Starglider 128k, The Sentinel and Gyron that kept me coming back again and again. Marvellous job and they've left an indelible mark.

Hey, you don't seem to mention Buggy Blast! My dad, Dave Lowe (he also did the music for Starglider and II) and uncle Paul Hibbard wrote it and was the first release on Firebird I believe?! It went to number 1, I think too. Anyway, good work on keeping it all alive. Good times! I was like, 5 but good times all the same! xx

My initial Lenslok code for QL Supercharge was cracked by unlicensed Belgian company Persoft who used the compiler to write a multi-tasking program to run alongside versions of Supercharge up to 1.14, PEEKing the screen and displaying the unscrambled grid. Versions from 1.15 to 1.19 randomised the graphic location, using QL SuperBASIC hires graphics scale and capabilities, to offset it and therefore confound the hack. Version 1.20, for US QL distributor A+ Computer Response, dispensed with Lenslok but only ran on Samsung QLs fitted with the US JSU Qdos ROM. It was several K shorter, leaving more room for code to be compiled.

C64 programmer Jon Wells has just completed his conversion of The Wild Bunch. It looks really good. Check it out. http://www.gamesplaygames.co.uk/thewildbunch/
