Andrew Bailey started tentative work on the second part of the ‘Ozzy versus the Universe’ saga (after Demons of Topaz). Cobber on the Commodore 64 featured Ozzy once again, this time throwing a hammer around a scrolling screen that also wrapped.
However, the chance to port the BBC Firebird Silver game ‘Microcosm’ to the Commodore 64 interrupted development, and Andrew’s inspiration faded. He then began work on Druid with Dene Carter and Cobber was abandoned.
Whilst developing Cobber, Andrew rewrote his sprite and character editor to use the Kola drawing pad. He decided to call this new tool set ‘sparrow’ (as in sprite arrow).
